The reason why as a worker in a business company I should respond positively to changes in products or services.

I should respond positively to changes in products or services because it shows I have the right qualities to work in that business, I can be productive and useful for the business goals and objectives. 

Businesses cannot prosper and be successful with negative workers who work with a passive attitude and actions.

The positive way to respond to changes in products or services is the right and best way.

Businesses need to survive changes and go on. Negative responses will end the life of a business. 

A positive response helps the business surviving, helps to work for the transition of changing; it finds a new creative way of responding to changes. 

For example, in the years 2009, 2010, in the fashion industry, the most important well establish fashions houses found themselves in front of particularly important changes, derived from the 2008 bank economic crisis and the technological changes. As for technological changes, new ways of communication, from the web, were invented during those years. The arrival of “fashion blogs” and “fashion bloggers”, with their immediate interaction with web users from every part of the world, pushed fashion houses to modify their way of communication with their audience and customers. Many fashion houses responded positively to these changes by introducing to their publicity plans and catwalks, these fashion bloggers, making them active and present into their world, embracing positively, in this way, even the audience of these fashion bloggers, their “Influence” on a very important number of potential customers and the youngest population of the world interested in fashion. Fashion designers like Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana embraced these changes in fashion communication by using more and more social media (personal microblogging and social networking services) like Twitter and Youtube, being active in the communication world, promoting their brand and creations in the web world by intensifying their presence. Other fashion designers like Marc Jacobs, invited personally famous fashion bloggers like “Bryanboy” to some of his catwalks, answering positively to the changes that their business implied. During our days, Instagram is the communication instrument most used by fashion houses. 

Cover letter option

 Because of professional reasons, first of all, I would like to chose the business writing option. I am a job seeker and I think I am going to choose the cover letter option.

Now I ask myself what I should write in a cover letter. I am reading these course lessons which talks about cv's and cover letters writing.

I really would like to write a super professional and exhaustive letter, which will convince the recruiter to recruit me and accept me.

When he became an adult, he began to decompose to dissect the traditional painting of its time. After periods of friendship with a Spanish friend who committed then suicide and finding himself alone in Paris, and after studying African art at the Louver Museum, he started to create a new form of art, started to visiting new artists in Paris and with one of them created Cubism, the modern art.

1. What was the main idea of the article? 

The main idea of the article is the author's passion for marginalia. He tells the way he found his way for a new passion by reading books. It is for him a strict, deep interaction with the book he is reading.

2.What was your opinion of the article? 

My opinion is very negative. I think the article author should study more history of European culture because he has not an idea of the real meaning of the history of marginalia. Because it has Americanized and trivialized a very old European practice that is over a thousand years old. The medieval marginalia is famous and I don't understand why the writer doesn't know them. The word Marginalia is not a real Latin word but it is derived from the Classic Latin margo -gĭnis «margin».

3. Was there any part of the article you didn't understand? 

Unfortunately, I can understand every single part of the article.

4. Was there any part of the article you disagreed with? 

As a European person, I can only disagree with the entire article. I can agree just on one point. The act of finding yourself a passion, a relationship, a way to live books. At the same time, I hope the author can understand what he reads and I don't think he tried to find the historical excursus about what he is reading.

5. Did you take notes on the article? How did your note-taking confirm (or not confirm) the main idea of the reading? 

I have underlined some parts of the article, translated some words. I have underlined especially the parts that show his ignorance about the topic he is talking about. It looks like a Da Vinci style trivialization of European culture. I suggest medieval marginalia, the marginalia of the Italian poet Giacomo Leopardi and the artist Michelangelo.

Week 2: Vocabulary, Tone, and Diction / Question about vocabulary: I believe that vocabulary is very important for writing, and perfecting it is always valuable. But would business vocabulary and vocabulary for literature be the same thing?

Taking a cue from a course student's question, I would like to write some considerations regarding the matter of what he is asking about. 

Would business vocabulary and vocabulary for literature be the same thing?
It depends on the kind of literature we are talking about. There are many different kinds of "literature". Business literature for sure is referred to business words and vocabulary. In order to understand business and economic literature, we need to understand that kind of specific glossary. For instance, the words "executive summary" are referred to as a single document or the initial part of a larger business document, like a business report or a business plan. It’s used to give the reader a quick overview of the larger body of material that follows. So, when we read these kinds of words we should understand instantly the meaning of the word is referred to. If we don't know it, we have to memorise the word and its meaning to understand the whole document meaning. By business literature, we also mean the articles of journalism that concern the world of economics and finance.

Then, if, by "Literature", we mean literature in an informal colloquial signification, or fiction reading, hobby, etc. It still can be possible, because there are many novels that set their plot and characters in the business sector. For example "The Wolf of Wall Street" is a memoir book written by a former stockbroker. For sure, when we read a book like this, we have read too typical business words and slangs.

Week 1 / How do you think email has affected communication? Do you hate it? Love it?

 I think email has effected very positively communication nowadays. 

With the immediacy of its shipment and arrival, the email has helped speed up the world of work and make it even more efficient. 

The email has shortened distances in the world and nations and it is possible to send and receive an email anywhere in the world.

I think we got many benefits from email. It is easier to apply for job searching, easier to enrol on education, communicate with other people. For example, I have studied far from my homeplace and before the enrollment, I got all the information I needed via email. Without email, it would have been more difficult to try to understand if that university would have been a good university for me.

Of course, unfortunately, there are dark sides. For example, hackers, scammers, thieves and sexual predators can use emails to try to find their victims and do their terrible illegals activities. Police everywhere in the world have their own special IT sector with IT experts who strive to track down evildoers around the world.

Email, with its immediacy, has cancelled the world of the past, and we can say, cancelled a romantic side of selling mail. More people in the world are rediscovering the romantic side of writing letters on paper and then send them by post and wait for the response of their recipient. It is a rediscovery of ancient times, the romantic side of writing and sending emails that we lost with the increase of technology.
